When Honey isn't on a lap, she can be found looking out the front window, usually sitting on the armchair. I was pretty surprised the first time I saw her straddling the arm as it looks so awkward and she seems to be embarrassed. But she continues to sit like this regularly, and now Boo does too.

They Grow Up So Fast

A couple of weeks after we got Honey, she started sitting on this shelf in our kitchen every morning after her breakfast. (Classic Pug Show routine.) She did this for a couple of months until there wasn't room for a pug to chill. After that she would try it out every once in awhile, but eventually it became impossible. |

Bringing Home Baby
When we got Boo in August of 2010, the only advice we had heard on bringing home a new dog was to introduce them at a neutral location, so we brought Honey to the playground across the street, and introduced her to Boo, the three-pound, fearless, terror. Honey was wary. Sometimes she still is. But their relationship has grown from Boo pestering Honey all day, every day, to Boo and Honey rolling around playing, chasing each other around the house, and cuddling up together to sleep. Although I would say that all togetherness is still instigated by Boo.
Insurance Pug
We decided to get another pug when Honey was about two years old. We thought it would be nice for Honey to have a companion, although I am a stay at home pug mama, so she was hardly ever alone. And we were getting sick of fighting over whose lap she would sit on for TV and movie watching. However, the main reason we wanted to get another pug was that I was afraid that when Honey died, if we didn't already have another pug, I would never want to get one again because of how awful it will be to lose one. I can only imagine how we will feel when we lose her, and that is enough to know I can't come back to a pugless house. I also think we will find comfort in our other little guy while we grieve, although she will be grieving too. Now, of course, we love Boo as much as Honey, so I guess we need another backup pug!

Why Blog?
Although I find reading other people's blogs interesting, and I have always enjoyed writing, I have never had any desire to put my own life out there, probably because it just isn't that interesting. The pugs' lives, however, are a completely different story, but I had never thought of blogging about them until recently. A couple of weeks ago I started reading pug blogs and found myself getting caught up in what other pugs are doing, how they are the same as my guys, and how they are different. I loved reading that other pug lovers see or say the same things we do regarding their pugs, strange things that I thought we made up.
My favourite blogs were of multi-pug families, posted at least a few times a week, and included lots of pictures, so I am basing my format on that. Can you ever have too many cute pug pictures to look at? I don't think so, so I plan on including at least one pug picture per blog.

A Pug by Any Other Name
Our pugs have many nicknames, the most common of which is Pug. I can't think of any other breed of dog that would work well as a name, but Pug seems as much like a term of endearment as Sweetie, Darling, etc. "Did you feed the German Sheperds?" just sounds awkward, but "Did the Pugs poop?" sounds right to us.
Other nicknames include, but are not limited to:
For Honey - Honey Bunny, Mouse, H Dawg, Girl, My Girl, Baby, Monkey, Dude, Fella
For Boo - Boo Berry, Baby Boo, Boo Boo, Boo Hoo, Boob, Boobie, Boober, Booger, Boog, Little Mouse, Brat, Little Fat Guy, Little Dude, Fat Bastard, Mini
